My name Is Tinie Kardol. I have extensive experience in research, policy and practice in elderly care: o I worked for the Ministry of Health for 5 years to improve the quality of care in Dutch nursing homes; o I received my PhD from Maastricht University for my resarch into the rights of residents staying in nursing homes; o I was the responsible director of a medium sized organisation for home care, institutional care and senior housing for older people; o I supported the island government of Curaçao in developing quality criteria and admission criteria for residential elderly care; o I supported a development in Izmir in the field of day care; o I conduct scientific research into the question of what kind of care elderly people in need of care prefer; o I give lectures at universities on aging issues; o I participate in European projects on ageing issues; o I write scientific articles and books, as well as novels, about ageing issues.
