I was born as the second child of Melahat and İbrahim Totik in August 1968 in the village of İmirhan in the Divriği district of Sivas. Our family moved to Ankara in 1969 to the Tuzluçayır neighbourhood of Mamak. I am the second of three children of a housewife mother and a labourer father. On my mother's side, I am the grandson of Fahrettin Erdoğan, a Turkish politician, founder of the Caucasian Republic and Minister of Foreign Affairs, a member of the Erzurum Congress, a member of the Kars Ittihad-ı İslam Cemiyeti, and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) I. I completed my primary education at Ankara Süleyman Nazif Primary School, my secondary education at the middle section of Tuzluçayır High School, and my high school education at Ankara Trade High School. I graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Business Administration. I married Garip Gençay in 1991. In the same period, I worked at the Accounting Directorate of the Turkish Mental Health Treatment Foundation. In June 1993, I moved to Didim, where I started to work as a CPA and I am still continuing my profession. I have been the founder, chairman and board member of various NGOs, chambers and associations as stated below: Presidency of Didim Atatürk Primary School Parent-Teacher Association, Founding President of Didim Parent-Teacher Associations Platform, 1998-1999 Aydın CPA Chamber Representative, Founding member of Didim Rotary Club, First woman President of Didim Rotary Club 2002-2003 period, Didim Gendarmerie Association management, Founder of Didim Women's Rights Protection Association, Founding member of Turkish Mothers Association Didim, Editorial Director of Akköy Literature Magazine for 16 years, Akköy Culture and Literature Association Management, Founding Member of Didim Cem House, Didim Cem House Management, Founding Member of Akbük Hacı Bektaşi Veli Foundation, Akbük Hacı Bektaşi Veli Foundation Management, Founder and Manager of Didim Sivas Culture Association (still), Founder and Manager of Aegean Region Sivas Associations Federation, Founder and Manager of Aydın Sivas Associations Federation (still), Founder and Manager of Didim Sailing and Yachting Club, Founder and Manager of Didim Women's Enterprise and Production and Business Cooperative, Founder of Hisar Building Cooperatives Union, Founding Member of ADD Didim, Adnan Menderes University University Development Association Didim Campus Management, Founder and Management of Balat-Milet Camping and Caravan Culture Tourism Development Association, 2014-2019 Didim Municipality Council Member. When I was a member of Didim Municipality Assembly, I was the Deputy Mayor of Didim Municipality, the Chairman of the Budget Commission, the Chairman of the Audit Commission, the founder of DIBEL A.Ş. I was authorised to solve the problem of arrangement and settlement of the Mavişehir Marketplace, which has been an unsolved problem for years, and I completed my duty with the solution of the problem. I gladly fulfilled the duties given on behalf of my party before and after my membership in the Municipal Assembly for Didim.
