CURRICULUM VITAE OF PROF. DR. YAŞAR UYSAL Born in 1967 in Gülbahçe village of Manisa, Yaşar UYSAL completed his university degree in 1988, his master's degree in 1990 and his doctorate in 1998 at Dokuz Eylül University. . In 1992, he started to work as an assistant at DEU, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics, Department of Economic Policy and he is still working as a lecturer at the same Faculty. In 2002, Yaşar Uysal became Associate Professor and in 2008 Professor. He teaches Economic Policy, Monetary Policy, Competition Policy, Economic Sociology, Agricultural Economics, Analysis of Economic Indicators, EU Agricultural Policies. Uysal also served as the Head of the Department between 2017-2020. Yaşar UYSAL started to work as an economic advisor at Izmir Commodity Exchange in 1994, and continued to work in the same institution as R&D unit manager and economic advisor after 1998. Uysal left this position at the beginning of 2006 on his own request (to concentrate on academic studies). Yaşar Uysal has worked as a consultant for Izmir Union of Chambers of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (2007-2019), Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Union (2009-2018) and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality (2014-2018). Yaşar UYSAL is an "Agriculture expert" in the "EU Team" established by the EU Commission Representation in Turkey to improve Turkey-EU relations and raise public awareness. Within the framework of the activities of this team, he gave training seminars in 50 different provinces of Turkey. Yaşar UYSAL has also received various awards for his individual and collaborative works. In 1993, he won the second prize in the scientific competition on "Current Problems of Animal Husbandry in Turkey and Suggestions for Solutions" organised by Yaşar Education Foundation; in 1994, he won the first prize in the competition on "How can Research, Development and Technology Production be Disseminated in Turkey?" organised by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce." organised by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in 1994, first prize in the competition on "How can Research, Development and Technology Production be Expanded in Turkey?", first prize in the "Traditional Milliyet Grand Prizes" competition of Milliyet newspaper in the "Economics major", third prize in the "Traditional Milliyet Grand Prizes" competition in 1996 in the "Turkey's Problems (Education) Major", honourable mention in the competition on the Future of Market Economy organised by Dünya Newspaper in 1996, and third prize in the TÜGİAD Economy Awards competition in 2003. Yaşar Uysal has individually and jointly published 14 books, 46 articles, presented 32 papers, given more than 300 conferences and seminars, and has also been the Coordinator of a national Congress organisation. Besides these, Yaşar UYSAL also produced tobacco, cotton, wheat, corn and vegetables in Gülbahçe village of Manisa. Uysal is married and has a daughter.
